Our Advanced Mini Dental Implant Symposium
Good morning and welcome to the Shatkin F.I.R.S.T.® Monday morning minute.
Hi, I’m Dr. Todd Shatkin and welcome to this Monday Morning Minute. We are here in Buffalo and our advanced Mini Dental Implant Symposium. We’ve got 120 doctors and staff here. It has been absolutely phenomenal fit. This is one of the best courses.
We’ve had, let me tell you. I’ve talked to doctors nonstop today and they’re so excited to be here. They’re learning new things on many dental implants, on our mono dental implants, and they’re learning from one another. Most importantly, they tell me that the Camaraderie is unbelievable. It’s a big family we have.
Well, this course will go down in my memory forever because my son Jared just graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Congratulations, Jared. We’re so proud of you. It’s been such a long haul. He’s going to be doing his residency here at the Shatkin Dental Health, NYU Langone Dental Residency, advanced Education, general Dentistry for the next twelve months along with a couple of his buddies from Tufts and another person, Emma Lowe, who’s Dr. Sandra Lowe’s daughter, who’s one of our customers. We have Connor Lemieux, who’s going to be doing a program with us, and Arash Ebershahi, who’s coming to Buffalo as well. So we’re very excited about it. We have three toughs graduates and one University of Pennsylvania graduate coming and it’s going to be a great, great year here at the Shatkin Dental Health Residency Program.
Yeah. Are you excited about it? I’m very excited. It’s going to be amazing. What do you go on? July 1 to July 1? Yeah, July 1 to June 30. June 30. Perfect. That’s awesome. It’ll be good to have he’s going. To do so many mini implants over the next year. His head is going to spin seriously.
Because the residents that are leaving, it over 300 each. 300 each. Unbelievable. They had over 300 extractions each. It’s unbelievable. Rafi, Dylan, and Kathy, they’ve been fantastic residents and we’re going to be sad to see them go. But you know what’s great about our residency is we placed all three of them into great practices. Dr. Neil Novak is going to be proud to have Rafi come to his clinic, and he’s one of our MDIC.
Frank Aiello, who’s one of our top dentist in Pittsburgh area, he’s going to be getting Dylan to go down there. That’s great. And Kathy’s going to AF Dent up in Indiana, who’s another one of our many implant doctors. That’s great. Roger Pacino. Yeah. So we’re very excited. So one of the great things about our residence is we help place the doctors into great locations. We do.
Of course, this guy’s going to work with I paid a lot of tuition and he’s staying right here. He’s going to help me make that money back. All right, I see your demo. Anyway, this has been one of the best courses and we’re so excited to have everybody here in Buffalo.
But I just want to thank all of the attendees here at this course for coming here to Buffalo. It’s the biggest course we’ve had since COVID There definitely was no social distancing, but I think we’re pretty good. We’re pretty clear with COVID here nowadays in the country, and that’s quite a relief.
And we had a few doctors, Dave and I talked to a few doctors about why they come out to Buffalo. So enjoy what you hear, and we’re going to see them next week on the Monday Morning Minute. Right? We will see you next week on the Monday Morning Minute.
Could you gentlemen explain to me why you come to a Shatkin F.I.R.S.T.® Course?
When I first came six years ago, I met Dave, I met Fitz and so many other really great clinicians, dentists, just nice people. Once you learn how to do what we do, we become a family and very good friends, as you can see. We look forward to seeing each other no matter how long we’ve been apart. It’s always great to get together, compare stories, compare our services that we do for our patients. We learn from each other, not just from Dr. Shatkin, but Dr. Shatkin is the one that got us all together and got us started. That’s why I’m here.
Yeah, I think Frank just he nailed it. It’s just the idea that this is really, after 37 years, probably the best group of professional colleagues and friends that I’ve ever associated with or really connected with. And it’s a pretty special situation for all of us, both professionally and friendship wise.
And it’s also great to meet new people. We have that opportunity. And by me coming back personally, selfishly, I was able to recruit one of the associates from the GPR program, and I can’t be any happier. And I never would have accomplished that if I didn’t come here and have our relationships.
Well, every time I come, I always learn something new. I think it’s like my 6th one now or so. And I always learn something new, always something to see, and it’s a good refresher on things that maybe I forgot. There’s a lot of information with all this. It’s nice to also have the camaraderie. I talk to a lot of different guys who are doing the same thing I am, and I’m the only one where I’m at doing this. So I feel like I’m out on an island almost. And then I come here and I’m like, okay, you break in plans, too, and you have issues also, so it works well.
So anytime you come up to a course like this, it’s like you’re going to learn so much that you’re going to immediately apply it in your implant practice, typically. And if you have an implant practice and that’s what I’m doing right now, and I’ve been doing that exclusively for three years now. And it’s just like you can learn anything and everything coming up here, meeting guys, meeting doctors, sitting in the class, visiting the clinic, that kind of thing. So it’s pretty awesome.
It just really feels like you’re part of the team here. It feels family. Patients want this. It’s instant gratification. It’s very affordable. No pain, little to no discomfort. After the procedure is done, it’s just all around it’s a no brainer. Like, why wouldn’t you want to do this procedure?
